More about Dr. Solomon
Michael S. Solomon, D.O. is a Board Certified, Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Refractive Eye Surgeon, excited to finally be home in Denver. He is conveniently located at Uptown Eye Associates on the 4 th Floor of the Medical Office Building at the Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Hospital Campus. He performs cataract, LASIK, pterygium, and glaucoma surgery. He has a passion for cataract procedures which may be able to reduce dependency on glasses after surgery. He medically treats glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disorders. Dr. Solomon looks forward to establishing compassionate medical and surgical eye care for his long-time friends and family now that he is home in the Denver metro area.
As a Denver Native, and “Rose Baby”, Dr. Solomon established deep roots in the Denver community. Growing up in both Denver and Aurora, Dr. Solomon graduated from Smoky Hill High School in the Cherry Creek School District. He was active in High School, and even served as the Senior Class President (Class of ’81). Dr. Solomon graduated from The Colorado College in Colorado Springs, with a degree in Biology. At CC, he was active in his Fraternity, and served as Rush Chairman (Class of ’85). He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri (Class of ’89). He spent several months of his Clinical Externships back home in Colorado. One of his highlights was his Emergency Department rotation at St. Anthony Central (Sloan’s Lake), and being able to ride “Flight for Life” helicopters while on lifesaving, critical care missions.
Dr. Solomon completed his internship and residency in ophthalmology at Beaumont Hospital (Botsford General Hospital – Detroit Consortium)/Michigan State University (’89 – ’93). His Refractive Surgery Fellowship was completed under the guidance of Michigan State University in 1994, right here in Colorado. Dr. Solomon enjoys his free time with friends and family, alpine skiing at “the Beav”, fly fishing on the Eagle, and relishing in the outdoor recreation that abounds in our wonderful Rocky Mountain region. Elway, Dr. Solomon’s Labrador Retriever, cherishes quality time with his human anytime, anywhere!
More about Dr. Hanson
Dr Hanson was born in Denver and grew up in Littleton, Colorado. Recruited to play football and baseball by Dartmouth College, he attended that institution, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1977. He completed medical school at the University of Colorado and his ophthalmology residency training in Los Angeles, California. He returned to Denver and started his private practice in 1985, adjacent to St. Luke hospital. He moved to Presbyterian/St. Luke and his present location when the building opened in 1991. His main clinical focus has been cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma management, and general eye care.
He is married with four children. His outside interests include tennis, golf, skiing, weightlifting, and biking.
